The people of Trinity love to serve others! We do our best to be the hands of Christ.

We Donate our Time

Evangelism Team is a group dedicated to reaching out to the church, community and beyond through our fund-raising for missions, scholarships and much more.   Consider joining us, all are welcome and it’s a great way to share your talents and your friendship!

NE Circuit 12 Amazing things happen when people come together. That is exactly what happened when laity from eight Sheboygan county area churches in the Northeast District – Circuit 12 of the Wisconsin Conference of the United Methodist Church came together more than 10 years ago. The Laity Committee is made up of representatives from the churches within the Circuit and is blessed with individuals that have a wide variety of talents, spiritual gifts and backgrounds.

We Donate

our Money

Noisy Buckets- The third Sunday of month is designated as Noisy Bucket Sunday and we throw our coins into tin buckets. (Quiet money is welcomed, also). This money goes to help Medjine, our sponsored child through Love Feeds OUR World in Haiti. In their effort to help others learn to feed themselves you can donate your coins and cash to the ark in the Welcome Center. The Sunday School children will choose the animals they wish to sponsor from the Heifer Project.

We support our missionaries in the Dominican Republic. Watch a video here.

We Donate our Resources

Each month we collect items for the Plymouth Food Pantry.

Each year Trinity sponsors a toy box for children less fortunate than our own. The unwrapped toys for boys and girls are donated to the Salvation Army who in turn distributes them to needy families.

Our donation of mittens, hats, scarves, socks, house slippers or ear muffs will keep a needy child warm and cozy on cold winter days.  These items will be given to the Salvation Army for distribution.

We collect school supplies for children in Haiti, and have donated supplies to UMCOR for flood buckets and baby items.

We Offer

our Prayers

It would be our honor to pray for you and your needs.

Send us a message on the Contact Us page or on our Facebook page.

We can keep it private, if you would like or if you would like the prayer warriors in our congregation to pray, we would gladly do so.

We continue to pray for:

Our troops and other public servants

Our church

Our church family

All whose journeys are troubling -

give them and us God's grace

The Evangelism Team is a self-supporting committee of the church that sponsors fundraisers, contributes money to mission and otherwise supports the evangelism and mission efforts of the church. There is no size limit on the group and they are always looking for people to serve on the team.

At the end of the year we distribute the monies we raised through the Chili Supper, Cookie Walk and various other fund raisers. Last year we gave to the following:

  • Three local food banks

  • Military Families Connect

  • Project Angel Hugs

  • Northcott Neighborhood House

  • Children's Ministries

  • Aunt Zaida's Blankets for the Homeless

  • Our mission family in the Domincan Republic

  • Gift cards to families in need at Christmastime

Originally formed in 2005, the inspiration for this group of dedicated and committed Christians came from a report by Rev. Stephen J. Polster entitled, "A Growing Sense of Urgency." In his work, Rev. Polster states, "Our hope is that… as teams rather than individual clergy and individual congregations, we will discover new ideas, new skills and renewed energy (some call it synergy) to fulfill the Great Commission and the mission of our Annual Conference to, ‘Make Disciples of Jesus Christ.’"

Even with tremendous diversity, the Laity Committee shares a common mission; "Northeast District – Circuit 12 is a United Methodist community of faith in service to all. By joining together we are strengthened to accomplish more than we can do individually." This shared mission is accomplished, however, without sacrificing the individuality, programs and needs of each local congregation. The committee’s goal is to continue to build strong laity, working alongside the clergy, to focus on the future and to seize emerging opportunities. Committee members network and work with congregations and clergy throughout the circuit, having fun along the way!

Over the past decade, the group has been instrumental in making a difference in local communities as well as around the world. The laity committee has implemented or supported such projects as:

  • Educational workshops

  • Collection of handmade caps for individuals going through chemotherapy

  • Laundry Love – the collection of laundry soap and cash for individuals in need

  • Media campaigns and the publication of inspirational materials

  • Savings souls – the collection of shoes for third world countries; helping individuals to become self sufficient

  • Love INC. (Love in the Name of Christ) of Sheboygan County

  • Providing Scholarships for individuals in the seminary

  • Conducting food drives to stock local food pantries

  • Community outreach – partnering with local Chambers of Commerce, Jaycees and Salvation Army

  • Sponsoring county-wide Youth events including: "The Great Race," "Wildly Different – Youth Rally" and "Catch the Spirit"

  • School Desks for Haiti – Constructed from Basswood grown, harvested, milled and build by laity within the Circuit and distributed to schools in Haiti and other third world countries

  • And much, much more

Each of the above projects would not have been possible without all of the churches working together to accomplish more. Working together allows smaller congregations to realize initiatives which previous would have been out of reach.

The committee meets the 4th Monday of every month (except December) at Faith United Methodist Church in Sheboygan Falls. Please contact the committee Chairperson, Joe Hilke (joehilke@aol.com) for further information or to find out how to become a member of this terrific group of Christian Champions.
